MC-21's NEW Rolled MMC Sheet Product
An Al-30 vol. % (34 wt. %) SiC composite material produced as rolled sheet suitable for
stamping or EDM'ing of heat spreaders, thermal planes, and other 2D parts requiring reduced
coefficient of thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity.

- CTE: 13-14 ppm/°C
- Thermal conductivity: 180-185 W/m-K
- Stiffness (Elastic Modulus): 20 Msi (138 GPa)
Al-30 vol. % (34 wt. %) SiC Sheet Manufacturing Characteristics
- Plating is not required. If desired Ni and Au plating can be performed using conventional
processors for aluminum.
- Stamping and EDM processes for producing high tolerance products have been performed
using conventional equipment.

- Thicknesses ranging from 0.6-12.5 mm (0.024" - 0.5")
- Up to 200 mm x 800 mm (8" x 32") in plan dimensions.
- Tolerance on thickness: ±0.02 mm (±0.0008")
