Foundry ingot containing silicon carbide in volume factions from 10% to 40% is available.
In consultation with the technical staff at MC-21, customers can specify the matrix alloy which
meets the requirements of their application.
MC-21 can produce foundry ingot from two sizes of production systems.
One system has a batch size of approximately 100 pounds and is ideal for prototype or small production quantities of MMC material.
The larger system produces approximately 1,250 pounds of MMC per batch and is suited to
manufacture large commercial quantities of MMC material.
MC-21 will provide parameters for how best to remelt and hold its MMC ingot in preparation for
casting and will suggest ways for it to be recycled to minimize scrap.
